Galway WFC are preparing for this Sunday’s clash with DLR Waves in Dublin without Laura Carroll.

Carroll is out with a knee injury.  Her replacement in their season opener Emma Treanor was also forced off in last Sundays game and is doubtful for this Sunday.  Some good news for the Galway Girls is that an International Transfer Certificate has been received for Ruth Fahy from Football Federation Australia clearing her transfer from South Melbourne WFC making her eligible for selection this week

Galway WFC manager Nigel Keady reflecting on their Bus Éireann WNL debut said “Before the game we would definitely have taken a draw.  However, although we were glad to get a draw there was a feeling that perhaps we left a further 2 points after us.  Although we controlled possession for long periods, at times we lacked penetration.  This is something we have set about rectifying in training this week.”

He continued, “After the excitement of our first game in the league we are now need to back that up and ensure that we can bring our match day performance on the road.  This will be another new experience but I believe that Sunday’s game will give us the confidence to know that we should fear no opposition.”
