The Bus Éireann Women’s National League Awards took place today at the Burlington Hotel. Minister of State, Michael Ring and UEFA Women’s Football Co-Ordinator, Emily Shaw, presented the awards for Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and a very special Services to Football Award.

Bus Éireann Women’s National League Awards Nominees Announced

The best players of the inaugural Bus Éireann Women’s National League will be honoured at an awards lunch that is due to take place at the Burlington Hotel on Tuesday, May 1st. Nominees for the Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season have today been announced along with the Bus Éireann Women’s National League All Star Team. The Minister of State for Tourism and Sport, Mr. Michael Ring, will be there to present the awards. A special award honouring one individual’s contribution to Women’s football will also be announced at the lunch.

Peamount went into today’s round of matches knowing they just needed to avoid defeat to be confirmed as the Bus Éireann Women’s National League Champions and their 1-0 victory over Shamrock Rovers was enough to see them through. Raheny finished the season on a high with a 5-2 victory over Castlebar and Cork confirmed themselves as third placed finishers with a 1-1 draw at home with Wexford.
