The three nominees for the Só Hotels Women’s National League Player of the Month for May have been confirmed.

A good run of games sees Shelbourne in third spot, just five points behind champions Wexford Youths in the league and their player Jamie Finn is among the nominees announced today after being a key player for the side.

Young DLR Waves player, Roisin McGovern is also among the nominees for May’s award, as is Kilkenny United goalkeeper, Lauren Davis.

Só Hotels Women's National League - Player of the Month nominees

Lauren Davis: It’s been a tough start to the campaign for Kilkenny United in terms of results, but their dedication and hard-work has been very evident, and nowhere has that been more obvious than in the performances of shot-stopper, Davis.

Jamie Finn: Despite having a very young side, Shelbourne have been playing some excellent football this season and are currently looking strong in the top half of the table, only behind the league leaders and the champions. Finn has brought experience to the team and is an important part of Dave Bell’s side.

Roisin McGovern: Also an Ireland-Under 19 current international, McGovern had a great month in May for the south Dublin side. There were big changes for the Waves in the off-season, but they have certainly been holding their own in the WNL and young talents like McGovern are a big part of that, putting in excellent shifts week-in, week-out.

The winner of the award will be announced next week.
