Shelbourne player Jamie Finn was this evening named the Só Hotels Women’s National League Player of the Month for May.

Finn has been a key player for Dave Bell’s side so far this season and her contribution was recognised this evening when she was presented with the honour by Só Hotels Business Development Executive, Rachel Lea Stuart at FAI HQ.

At just 21-years-old, Finn is one of the more experienced played in a Shels squad that includes a lot of impressive young talent.

Finn beat off competition from Roisin McGovern of DLR Waves and Kilkenny United goalkeeper, Lauren Davis to scoop the award.

Speaking on accepting the honour, Finn explained that she is enjoying the season with Shelbourne so far and feels there are no limits to what they can achieve this season.

She said: “I’m delighted to win the award, it’s always nice to get recognition for the work you put in. Things are going well for us at the moment. Training is great and we are happy with the performances we are putting in. We’re getting a lot of goals, which is obviously a positive. We’ve a great team spirit in the squad, and I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the hard work that all the girls have put in.”

Finn added that Shels really are just taking every game as it comes and concentrating on the job at hand, which is showing in the amount of goals they are putting away most weeks.

She said: “For the rest of the season, we want to keep working hard, and keep progressing as much as we can. We are playing good football and scoring goals and we obviously want to keep that up. We want to just keep taking each game as it comes and do as well as we can this season. We have a big game coming up against Peamount, which we will all be looking forward to after the break."
