THE Continental Tyres Women’s National League Annual Award nominations for 2014-15 and the Team of the Season have been announced.

League champions Wexford Youths Women’s AFC have three players, Carol Breen, Kylie Murphy and Claire O’Riordan, nominated for the Senior Player of the Year. Also nominated are UCD Waves duo Aine O’Gorman and Julie-Ann Russell and Raheny United Katie McCabe. 

Wexford Youths’ Women’s Aisling Frawley and Ciara Rossiter have been nominated for the Young Players of the Year award alongside Shannon Carson of Cork City Women’s FC.

The Team of the Season features six players from Wexford Youths Women’s AFC, two each from Raheny United and UCD Waves and one from Galway WFC.

The Player and Young Player of the Year Award nominees were selected following a ballot of players attached to Continental Tyres Women’s National League clubs. 

The Continental Tyres Women’s National League Annual Awards 2015 will be presented at the official luncheon, which will take place in Clyde Court Hotel on Wednesday, April 22. There will also be a special Services to Women’s Football Award presented.

This season’s Continental Tyres Women’s National League was won for the first time by Wexford Youths Women’s AFC and the 2015 Continental Tyres WNL Cup Final between Peamount United and Raheny United will take place on Sunday, April 26, at Tolka Park with a kick-off time of 4.30pm.
