Peamount United made it four consecutive away wins as they saw off Limerick FC 9-1 at Markets Field.

The Dublin outfit dominated the first half, with the impressive Aine O’Gorman at the heart of all that was good about the Peas.

The second half was a more even affair, however the scoreline didn’t relect that with Peamount adding four goals to their first half haul.

Limerick pulled one back, on what proved to be a difficult afternoon for Dave Rooney’s side. Irish international O’Gorman broke the deadlock on 15, cutting in from the left to fire past Trish Fennelly, before her cross led to an own goal which doubled the lead.

Once again the winger provided a perfect cross on the half-hour, allowing captain Amber Barrett find the net. Sub Megan Smith-Lynch made it four soon after with a wonderful right wing strike, as the hosts struggled with the attacking quality on display from United.

O’Gorman added her second, cutting in from the left, to give James O’Callaghan’s side an unassailable lead. Limerick were unable to test keeper Naoisa McAoon regularly, with Shannon Parbat frustrated with her failure to connect with a header on 28 minutes.

O’Gorman provided another brace of assists on 48 and 53, with Barrett finishing both to complete an efficient hat-trick.

O’Gorman completed her deserved hat-trick before Rebecca Hogan controlled expertly and finished to the net to give Limerick a consolation.

But Lousie Masterson had the final say for Peamount as she made it 9-1 to compete a fantastic day for the Dublin outfit.
