The nominees for the Só Hotels Women's National League Player of the Month for April have been confirmed.

Galway and Cork City have both had solid starts to the season with very youthful sides and that has resulted in nominations for a player from each team, with Sinead Donovan and Katie McCarthy among the final three for the month’s award.

Só Hotels Women's National League - Player of the Month nominees

Sinead Donovan: The young Galway midfielder is a perfect example of the set-up at her club this season. A young, hard-working player, with plenty of talent, Sinead had shown just want she is capable of over the last number of weeks.

Katie McCarthy: A Women’s National League stalwart, Katie made her 100th appearance for Cork City on May 5. Katie has scored four goals so far this season, and is a key player in this City side. Her form during April was considered to be stand-out for the assessors.

Eleanor Ryan Doyle: The striker has been played a key role in Peamount’s perfect start to the season, scoring four goals for the Peas so far. The Lucan-native has put in impressive performances week-in, week-out and so it’s not surprising to see her in the running for this month’s prize.

The winner of the award will be announced this week.
