Wexford Youths will be hoping to make it three in a row as they start their defence of the FAI Women's Senior Cup on Saturday, October 3rd.

Each of the four quarter-finals will be played on the same day, so there is all to play for between eight of the nine Women's National League clubs (Athlone Town were beaten on penalties by Bohemians in a Preliminary Round).

Wexford have won the Cup three times in their history, while Cork City, Peamount United and Shelbourne have one victory each. So there could be a new name on the trophy if Bohemians, DLR Waves, Galway WFC or Treaty United went all of the way.

It certainly won't be easy to get through to the semi-finals with each of the match-ups looking to be incredibly tough to call.

Dating back to the 1970s, this is the most prestigious competition in women's football in Ireland, so expect some fiery encounters as each of the eight teams attempt to take the next step towards reaching the final.
