Bus Éireann Womens National League round up

Victories for all the travelling teams this week, as Raheny, Wexford and Castlebar all enjoyed wins.


Raheny United maintained their smashing start to the season with a splendid 3-2 away success over Shamrock Rovers.

In an action packed contest Orlagh Nolan gave Shamrock Rovers the lead in the 16th minute, but Raheny responded.

Caroline Thorpe equalised for the visitors, but after the restart Rovers hit the front again courtesy of a tidy Nolan finish.

Katie McCabe restored parity with a 69th minute penalty and then Raheny dramatically earned all three points when the excellent Noelle

Murray nailed the winner on 77.


Emma Mullin was the star as Castlebar Celtic also recorded an away victory defeating newcomers DLR Waves by 3-1.

Katie Walsh's seventh minute strike gave the Mayo outfit an interval advantage, but an improving DLR Waves clawed their way back into the


Ten minutes after the restart Sylvia Gee poked her second goal of the campaign as DLR Waves levelled.

Castlebar, though, stayed calm under pressure regaining the initiative in the 59th minute when Mullin converted following a delightful move.

In the last minute Emma Hansberry sealed the deal for Castlebar, who departed from the capital armed with an encouraging result.


Wexford Youths made it two wins on the spin outfoxing Cork Womens FC as Rianna Jarrett was the inspiration scoring a hat trick.

Jarrett hit the only goal of the opening period in the 23rd minute as Cork Womens FC weren't clinical enough spurning several opportunities.

Wexford Youths finished with a flourish rifling three goals in the closing 17 minutes as Cork Womens FC's challenge was dismissed.

In the 73rd minute Jarrett edged Wexford Youths two ahead and a then five minutes from time Maria Delahunty added another.

Wexford were dominant late on with Jarrett completing her hat trick in stoppage time to decorate a polished performance.
