Galway WFC and Shelbourne LFC resulted in a 1-1 draw in their match at Tolka Park on August 27th keeping Galway WFC undefeated in the league.

Lynsey McKey put Galway ahead early on as she scored in the first three minutes. However, later in the match, Noelle Murray was able to tie up the match off of a penalty kick. Neither team was able to grasp the lead in the end.

Peamount United recorded a 10-0 win in their away match against Kilkenny United WFC on Sunday afternoon.

Five minutes into the match, Kilkenny United suffered an own goal, putting Peamount United ahead. Goals continued to follow as Amber Barrett finished the match with an impressive five goals as Lisa Casserly, Roma McLaughlin, Clare Kinsella and Lucy McCartan had one goal each.

Sunday afternoon, UCD Waves continued to remain undefeated as they were able to beat Cork City Womens FC 5-1.

UCD’s Áine O’Gorman was able to take the lead late in the first half to put the waves ahead 1-0. Julie Ann Russell then secured the lead with two more goals before the half ended. Cork City continued to persevere, and Marie Curtin was able to place the ball in the bottom left corner to put the score at 3-1 to UCD. Ultimately, UCD came out on top with two more goals from Áine O’Gorman and Niamh Chemaou to keep UCD’s undefeated record with the 5-1 win.

UCD Waves and Galway WFC both remain leaders of the league with seven points each at the end of this weekend.

Wexford Youth Womens FC had a bye week.
