On Saturday, September 3rd, Shelbourne Ladies FC and UCD Waves, faced each other in Jackson Park. Both teams went into the match undefeated, and came out with a 1-1 draw.

Shelbourne’s Leanne Kiernan scored the first goal of the game from a Courtney Higgins’ free kick in the first half. In the second half, UCD was able to score to tie up the match.

Shelbourne’s record is now 1-0-2, and UCD’s is 2-0-2.

Wexford Youths got their first win of the season on Saturday. The Youths beat Kilkenny United 7-0 with goals from Claire O’Riordan, who scored four, Emma Hansberry, Maria Delahunty, and Linda Douglas with one each.

O’Riordan’s goals have placed her third in the league for goals scored with four. Wexford’s record is now 1-1-1, and the young Kilkenny team has a record of four defeats.

Peamount United was able to defeat Cork City 3-1 this weekend in Greenogue. Cork City’s Danielle Sheehy scored her first national league goal in the first half to put her team ahead. However, in the second half, Cork City was able to bounce back with three goals.

Peamount now leads the league with nine points and a record of three wins. Cork City’s record consists of four defeats.

Amber Barrett of Peamount United and Aine O’Gorman of UCD lead the league in goals with five each.
