Following the international break the Bus Éireann Women’s National League makes a welcome return this weekend and with few games left before the end of the season there is even more at stake in each of the three matches this weekend.

Castlebar Celtic host Shamrock Rovers this weekend in a battle of the league’s bottom two. Rovers have been cut adrift at the bottom of the table and need points to try and catch up to their hosts. Castlebar may lie 5th in the table but they are only 1 point away from third place and with their rivals playing the top two in the league it is a real opportunity to climb further up the table. Shamrock Rovers need a win to get their season back on track and will feel that this is a great opportunity to put down a marker for the rest of the campaign.

League leaders, Peamount Utd, host Wexford Youths at Greenogue and must fancy their chances of maintaining their 100% record over their visitors this weekend having won every meeting between the two sides to date. Having scored 19 goals in their last two matches the Peamount girls will not be short on confidence and will be boosted by the return of their international contingent from the Algarve cup. Wexford Youths will be boosted by their haul of 4 points from their last two games but they have already suffered heavily at the hands of Peamount  conceding 13 goals and failing to score in their previous two meetings.

Raheny welcome Cork Women’s FC to Morton Stadium knowing that they must win if they are to keep the pressure up on Peamount at the top of the tablewhom they trail by only one point. Cork gave Peamount a stern test in their last match before the break and will fancy their chances of springing a surprise in Dublin this weekend. Raheny have won both of the previous encounters between these two sides but it has always been a difficult tie and they will expect Cork to make it a difficult afternoon again on Sunday.
