Round 12 of the Bus Éireann Women’s National League saw Peamount United sensationally lose their one point lead over Dublin rivals Raheny United after losing 1-2 to Wexford Youths Women in Greenogue today. A scoring blitz in Celtic Park saw Castlebar Celtic finish 3-3 against Shamrock Rovers in Mayo. And finally, Raheny United triumphed 2-1 against Cork Women’s FC in Morton Stadium this afternoon.

In Dublin, hosts Peamount saw their winning run come to an end when they were beaten 1-2 by Wexford Youths Women at home in Greenogue this afternoon. An early goal from Claire Kinsella wasn’t enough to quieten the Wexford visitors, who answered with goals from Cherelle Khassel and Sadie Murphy in the 31st and 33rd minutes respectively.

Celtic Park was the venue for Castlebar Celtic’s clash against Shamrock Rovers this afternoon. The visitors opened scoring in the 9th minute with a goal from Rachel Jenkins, two more goals followed from Jenkins resulting in a hat-trick for the young Dubliner. The hosts replied with three goals from Shaunagh Jackson and Emma Hansberry.

Raheny United maintained their consistent run in Morton Stadium today beating their southern visitors 2-1 thanks to two goals from Rebecca Creagh. Lynsey McKey managed to get Cork on the scoreboard in the 88th minute thanks to a brave header. Raheny now regain their position at the top of the table.

The league takes a break next weekend for the league cup semi-finals, which take place next Sunday, March 18th at 2pm. The next league fixtures take place on Sunday April 8 when Cork Women’s FC are up against Castlebar Celtic Women, Raheny United take on Peamount, and Shamrock Rovers are at home to Wexford Youths Women. All games kick-off at 2pm on Sunday, April 8.
